Daniel Cote Jr. was born and raised in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. As a child he loved Legos and Transformers, he told WholeWRLD, "As a kid growing up I hated sports" his hate for sports carried throughout a majority of his childhood.
Daniel first started his journey in football at 9, his biggest inspiration for the sport came from Tyrone Crawford he would say, "Tyrone Crawford is like an uncle to me, he played with the cowboys for 9 years and was there for my very first travel football tournament, that honestly pushed me even more to pursue football." Even with all the time spent at an early age he never truly enjoyed it. He felt as if football wasn't meant for him. "I quit on it and didn't return until my father introduced me later on."
When Daniel was 12 Daniel's father would introduce him to travel football, Daniel would speak on his experience. "Local ball didn't really interest me, playing football in real football states, I can tell you-l wouldn't give it up now."
Though football was never something he loved growing up, as he got older the love he's had for the game transformed, "Football means a lot to me, it let's me be leader for my teammates-it's a brotherhood and it's a game that allows me to release my built up anger out on the field. I've been through a lot of trials with depression but honestly football has helped a lot, it's always had my back."
Daniel has learned a lot of lessons battling on the gridiron, he shared two important lessons he carries with him to this day, "I learned to never allow people to put you down, to where you overthink about yourself, I have experienced that so much throughout my career. Another lesson would be time management. Free time is great, but if you want to be great, make that free time turn into development time for the field!"

As a player Daniel has developed so much, he attributes that fact to Coach Eddie Ouellette, "He's saw the athlete in me when most doubted me or fed me false prophecies just to fill a roster spot on their teams. He truly cares about me and ensures I'll show the state I'm one of the best!"
Daniel hopes to play college football while simultaneously working on an engineering degree and he has the people in his life to thank for that goal. The people his life have shaped the young man Daniel is today, they've had years of impact on him and now more than ever as they push him to make everyday count as the years go on, telling WholeWRLD, "It's a countdown to the end."
"My "why?" is me! I do this for me an no other reason. I'm here to ensure that I'm happy first and that's why I do all of this! I love everyone else trust but if you aren't doing it for you the why do it at all?"
"God, my family, and the ones who doubt me motivate me to be better."
Daniel Cote Jr. now moves onto his junior year as linebacker for the Woonsocket Villa Novans, after a promising sophomore campaign and raking in numerous postseason awards there's no telling the ceiling for Daniel Cote Jr.
